In Oni Buchanan’s enchanting program, “Immaculate Textures: The Music of Maurice Ravel,” she carefully weaves together masterpieces from throughout the French impressionist’s career. From the virtuosic playfulness of Jeux d’eau, Oni enters the beguiling children’s tales of Ma mère l’oye (Mother Goose Suite) and the lovely mournfulness of the famous Pavane pour une infante défunte. The exquisite Sonatine precedes the rarely performed complete Miroirs suite whose momentum builds up through the show-stopping centerpieces, Une barque sur l’océan (A Boat on the Ocean) and Alborada del gracioso, before evanescing in sonorous waves over the final panoramic landscape of La vallée des cloches (The Valley of the Bells).
