Gossamer is a strong silky thread that is often used to bind and weave. In “Gossamer Threads,” there exists a thematic linkage within each piece but also a common thread tying the program together. With the interweaving Celtic theme and variations of Eisteddfod, and the complex ties between three protagonists in the Argentinian-influenced Formas de Arena, the program is bound together by Debussy’s Sonata – a masterpiece that gave birth to the flute/viola/harp combination.
